Brimbank Green Waste Collection
Each financial year, all residential properties within Brimbank are eligible for one free rubbish collection, this includes:
- 4m³ of hard waste and/or
- 2m³ of green waste
If you would like both 4m³ of hard waste and 2m³ of green waste as part of your one free collection, you will need to fill out both hard and green waste collection forms as they will be picked up separately.

IMPORTANT - Below form is for GREEN WASTE COLLECTION, if you would like to book your hard waste collection, go to hardrubbishmelbourne.com.au/brimbank.
Your collection will take place between Monday to Friday. Waste is to be ready for collection by 6am Monday morning.
Please place your waste in your front yard, in one defined pile, ensuring that the collection crew has easy access to collect the waste.
How much waste can you put out?
4m³ equals – 4m x 1m x 1m. In feet, this equates to 13ft x 3ft x 3ft.
2m³ equals – 2m x 1m x 1m. In feet, this equates to 7ft x 3ft x 3ft.
Additional green waste collections can be booked and cost $80.10 per collection. Collection to be booked and paid by credit card over the phone.

Please place your waste:
- Out the weekend before your collection
- Just inside your property boundary – either front lawn or driveway.
- In one clearly defined pile, away from any other items.
- In a spot that is easily accessible by the collection crew
- Out by 6am Monday morning for collection that week.
- Do not leave any items of value near hard waste piles as these will be deemed as hard waste and if taken, no compensation will be given.
Green Waste Acceptable:
- Items must be able to be lifted to shoulder height by one person
- Tree branches and prunings – bundled and tied with string or twine (less then 75mm wide and 1.5m long. Bundles must be smaller than 300m wide)
- Single tree limbs (no branches attached, neatly stacked) smaller than 200mm wide and 1.5 long
Green Waste we will NOT COLLECT
- Untied tree branches or prunings
- Bundles in excess of 300mm wide or 1.5m long
- Green Waste in plastic bags or containers
- Grass clippings, weeds and leaves
- Noxious weeds or vines
- Large tree stumps or roots
- Tree limbs wider than 200mm
- Fence panels of any type
- Untied green waste or green waste tied with unnatural materials
- Items not being able to be lifted by one person
